I love Sundays. Actually, I adore them. There is just something so wonderfully relaxing, peaceful and perfect about Sundays.
Sundays offer a chance for catching up on much-needed sleep credits, for a slow start to the day, for a quiet coffee and time to read, and the freedom to do as much or as little as you want. I never seem to have many plans on Sundays. I don’t know if that’s because I deliberately keep my Sundays as free as possible or because everyone else is doing the same, but I love that lack of obligations, plans and schedule that Sundays offer.
I started this Sunday with the kind of sleep in that I had been dreaming of for weeks. When I dragged myself away from the comfort of bed I found my husband had earned himself a whole bunch of brownie points by picking up white and coral roses for me from the local markets along with some incredibly scrumptious pastries. He made us some coffees and then left me to sit, eat, write and just be by myself.
This lazy Sunday also happens to be smack bang in the middle of a long weekend, but to make things even better I have the next week off, so this is just the beginning of the good things to come.
How do you like to spend your Sundays?
