Summer escape: throwback to perfect beach days

As the temperature continues to hover around the 35 degrees mark, I can’t help thinking back to some of my favourite beach days from summers past.

I’d give anything to be able to just float in the cool water, especially now I’m so heavily pregnant and the feeling of weightlessness would be ridiculously appreciated!

Luckily, at Christmas we spent almost ten days on the Mid North Coast of NSW with family and I got to revisit some of my favourite beaches from my childhood.

I grew up close to Crescent Head and it’s gorgeous stretch of hidden back beaches (pictured) as well as the beautiful South West Rocks, both of which offer a fantastic selection of beaches to choose from depending on your mood and the conditions. As an adult I can now appreciate the absolute beauty of this area and the privilege of being able to have a beach almost to myself on any given day!

So I made the most of every minute I had there; I walked on the warm sand, floated along the creek, jumped waves, and watched surfers and kite surfers from the headlands.

Where is your happy place? How are you staying cool this summer?
