How to do make-up when you have a baby

Trying to leave the house with a baby in a respectable amount of time is tough enough, let alone trying to leave the house with a baby AND a fresh face with just the right amount of make-up!

With such a limited window of time to get yourself ready to take on the world it is important to prioritise and strip your routine back to the essentials. A shower in the morning is fantastic if you can manage it, plus throw on some skincare essentials, clothes (mandatory, sorry), and a few key beauty products and you will be good to go!

Moisturiser: Go-To Skin Care Very Useful Face Cream

The best base for a fresh face is a gorgeous, hydrating moisturiser and there is none better than the Go-To Skin Care Very Useful Face Cream. The lightweight daily moisturiser is full of essential anti-oxidants to keep your skin supple and clear. Ideally, I would also have time to cleanse first with Go-To Skin Care’s Properly Clean.

Tinted sunscreen: Invisible Zinc Tinted Daywear

A good sunscreen is an absolute essential to your daily beauty routine regardless of your sex or age to protect against UV exposure. I love Invisible Zinc’s Tinted Daywear because it effortlessly combines a lightweight sunscreen with a hint of moisturiser and the colour of a foundation. On days when I am super busy I sometimes use this product in place of a foundation or even a BB cream for a hint of colour.

BB cream: L’Oreal Nude Magique BB Cream

When I do have time for a few extra products I love to use a BB cream for an even complexion and consistent colouring. This five-in-one product helps enhance your natural complexion without heavy coverage, and when you have a face full of freckles you want to show off like me that’s ideal.

Eyeshadow: L’Oreal Paris Color Riche in Macaron Vanille

You can never go wrong with a nude eyeshadow whatever the occasion. L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Eyeshadow Mono’s are a combination of pigmented powders and gel to create a strong creamy colour with plenty of staying power.

Mascara: Clinique Lash Power Mascara

This is my absolute favourite mascara and an essential step in creating an effortless look. Forget clumpy, thick lashes; Lash Power Mascara creates a natural, beautiful look while really emphasising each and every lash. Plus the tubular formula means it won’t smudge or smear. If I could only wear one product this would be it!

Eyebrow gel: Benefit Gimme Brow

A few quick swipes of this genius product and my brows are tamed, while looking full and fabulous. I have been using this tinted brow gel for years and am obsessed. It makes all the difference and manages to make me look polished in about 5 seconds flat!

Lipgloss: Go-To Skin Care Pinky-Nudey Lips!

This sheer lip gloss with a pinky-nudey tint is the perfect multipurpose make-up item. A few quick swipes and you’ve got beautiful pink nourished lips (with the added benefit of SPF 15 sun protection).

Perfume: Chanel Allure

I was given this perfume as a birthday gift and absolutely adore the warm floral fragrance.A spritz of perfume is also the perfect way to quickly transform your just-thrown-together-in-about-five-minutes look into effortlessly-gorgeous-and-totally-understated.

What are your essential make-up products when you’re pushed for time?
