How to get an instant summer glow this winter

Just because you can escape the cool winter weather with a little holiday doesn’t mean there is any escaping your pale winter skin!
We like to travel somewhere warmer at this time of year so I always take some handy products with me to fake a warm summer glow.

Go-To Skin Care

Because if you can get the base right everything else is a breeze! For some extra dewy skin I use a few drops of my Face Hero mixed into my Very Useful Face Cream first thing in the morning. A swipe of Lips! and a dollop of Super Handy keep the winter chill at bay. For an extra dose of the tropics your skin can’t go wrong with the beautifully rich Exceptionoil.

Invisible Zinc

Whatever the season, it is always important to use a sunscreen and I absolutely love Invisible Zinc’s Tinted Daywear. The subtle tint adds a great base of colour (I use the medium colour) and the strong sunscreen protects my skin.

The Body Shop body oil

I first discovered the Honey Bronze Shimmering Dry Oil on holiday in Hawaii a few years ago and am still obsessed. This range is perfect for faking glowing bronzed skin without the telltale orange hue of fake tan. A little shimmer in the tints is an added bonus! I am also keen to try the Honey Bronze Holiday Glow Creator, which you can add to your foundation or moisturiser for a streak-free tan.

Batiste Dry Shampoo

Dry shampoo is ALWAYS useful but I love this particular one – Batiste Dry Shampoo plus Divine Dark – because it has a dark brunette colour added in for those weeks or months in between hairdresser appointments.

Country Road sunglasses

Finally, the perfect pair of sunnies to really fake a summer look! I’ve written before about my County Road shades and still cannot live without them.

What tricks or products do you use to get a gorgeous glow all year round?
