We just spent two back-to-back long weekends surrounded by family and have come away from it all with some amazing memories.
My family joined us in Canberra for a little bit of rest and relaxation, but mostly just to spend time with the newest addition. We explored Floriade, took our baby boy swimming, ventured out for a few delicious meals – yes I am talking about you, Green Tea Hotcakes from Gus’ Place – and even fit in some shopping.
Then we drove down to the South Coast to spend the Labour Day long weekend with my husband’s family. There was lots of time spent playing with the kiddies, walking along the Merimbula Boardwalk, eating, drinking and catching up. After a number of failed attempts in recent months, Aidan finally ended up at the beach on a sunny day and he was wide awake, which meant he got to play on the sand for the very first time. Of course he loved it so much he kept trying to eat it!
All in all it has been a pretty amazing couple of weeks and a timely reminder of how lucky we are.
