When I put out the question recently about what type of articles you’d like to see more of there was a resounding call for a Christmas shopping list. Well, you asked for it, so I delivered and pulled together a list of Christmas gift ideas across a range of topics and price points.
I totally understand why there was such interest in a curated Christmas list; it’s always a busy time of year and trying to navigate packed shopping centres and the multitude of options online is a bit overwhelming.
The build up to Christmas is even bigger this year for us because not only is it my son’s very first Christmas, but it will also be our first Christmas at home in more than a decade!
We have always travelled for the holidays, alternating between our families. But this year, for the very first time, we will actually be putting up a Christmas tree, hanging lights and cooking our very own Christmas dinner. It’s a pretty big deal and has me even more excited for the holidays!
The Daily Edited was always going to be at the top of my list this Christmas! They have a fantastic selection of bags, wallets, stationery, phone cases and travel accessories, plus beautiful monogramming that takes it to the next level. For ladies in your life, you can’t go past The Daily Edited Pouches (from $89.95) and for your favourite gents check out The Daily Edited Wallet ($119.95).
I couldn’t resist adding my new Prene Bag’s The X Bag ($129.95) to the list too! It’s beautiful, lightweight, practical and a thoughtful present for our favourite lady.
The gorgeous Mecca Cosmetica’s The Mecca Spectacular ($165) is an advent calendar with wow factor! It includes 12 beauty products – from an eyelash curler to a mini primer – concealed within individual drawers.
Amazinger Face by Zoe Foster Blake (on sale for $34.75) is the perfect gift for a beauty concious friend or someone interested in learning more about skincare, haircare and all the best make-up tricks. My mum even asked for this book for Christmas after flicking through my copy!
Speaking of the gorgeous Zoe, I obviously love all her Go-To Skin Care products, but if I was going to gift one product to someone this Christmas it would have to be Face Hero ($45), but Super Handy ($21) and Lips! ($15) also make for great stocking stuffers!
Tony Moly Face Masks also make for great Secret Santa gifts or stocking fillers because they are just $2.99 each and treat a range of skin care concerns.
Haigh’s Chocolates has an advent calendar! I repeat, Haigh’s Chocolates has an advent calendar! This is not a drill people. You can buy the calendar ($21.95) and chocolate squares ($24.75) separately. They also have a great range of Christmas gift packs, including their Milk Chocolate Square Bundles ($4.95) which should be in everyone’s stocking!
When it comes to food and wine I always try to buy local or handmade and support small businesses. In Canberra the place to look for gorgeous regional produce is Pialligo Estate and I have already ordered some of their amazing Bacon Jam ($10)! I also gave my husband their Bacon and Beer hamper ($60) for his birthday recently and it was went down a treat (especially the Bentspoke beer!)
You can never go wrong with cookbooks as gifts! Keep an eye out for The Capital Cookbook 3 ($39.95), Tuscany (on sale for $38.50), Jamie Oliver 5 Ingredients (on sale for $41.95), and The Beauty Chef (on sale for $38.50). And for the keen baker in your family, The Daily Edited’s Food I Will Cook notebook ($14.95) is a must!
Like all parents, I’ve been in conversation with Santa about what my son will be getting for his very first Christmas, so I have it on good authority it will be the iconic Little Tikes Cozy Coupe ($129.95). They also have a selection of toys for $20 and under here.
The Jellycats Bashful Bunnies ($39.95) are just beautiful for babies and we got the grey bunny for our son from Seed Heritage at Easter.
Skip Hop make some colourful animal rattles ($16.95 each) and their musical instrument set is still one of my bubba’s favourites ($29.95)! We are looking at their backpacks ($29.95) and lunch boxes ($19.95) ahead of our first day of daycare next year.
Books are great gifts for kids of all ages! Besides getting more Spot or Grug books, the one that’s on my radar this summer is No One Likes A Fart by Zoe Foster Blake (on sale for $14.95).
One of our new traditions this year is to get new pjs on Christmas Eve. So I hit up Peter Alexander for some matching sets for my son ($59.95) and his daddy ($45.95). I got my own pyjama set (sold out) from Homebodii.
Seed Heritage has some beautiful hats and caps for mums and bubs and I recently bought the Mr Face Cap ($19.95) for my boy and the Squad hat ($29.95) for myself. A great gift for any woman’s stocking is Seed’s Initial Necklace in rose gold ($12.95).
If you are going to buy your dad or hubby socks and undies you might as well get them something nice from Bonds! He would probably appreciate the Elastic Hipster Brief 4 Pack ($26.95) or the Mens Trainer 4 Pack of socks ($17.95).
For the busy woman in your life, try The Daily Edited’s To Dos notebook ($14.95), Kate Spade New York 2018 diary ($64.95) , Prene Bag’s Cosmetic Bag ($29.95) or Kikki.K’s Leather Travel Wallet ($69.95).
Bison Homewares is the place to find stunning ceramic vases and it just happened to be another awesome Canberra business you can support – #winwin. Their bulb vases (from $21) are super cute!
I have it on good authority that Inoko Candles are some of the best and the luxe Marble Small Gift Set ($95) would make a great gift! It comes with a small marble candle vessel and two candle refills.
T2 have some great gift packs for the tea-lover in your life. For something different try the Tropical Chiller Iced Tea Gift Set ($50) with a 1.2L jug and two teas.
As well as beautiful fashion, Country Road sell the best coffee cups! I have bought them as gifts in the past and they are great quality with a modern look and feel. I love both the Tapas mugs (set of four $44.95) and the smaller Tapas espresso mugs (set of four $34.95).
As this is our very first Christmas at home in more than a decade, we needed to get ALL the decorations and Christmas supplies. Top of my lists was to get personalised Santa Sacks and I found some beautiful handmade sacks (from $39) from Melbourne mum Rebekah of Sack-it!
This Christmas we will also be lighting our Song of Oya Christmas Candle – Frankincense and Myrrh (from $12). Get excited, because they also have a limited edition Gingerbread candle!
I hope this list helps make your Christmas shopping experience a little easier. If you have any great Christmas gift ideas please feel free to share them too!
