My reading goals for 2019

I love to read and I always have. As soon as I finish one book you can guarantee that I am on to the next.

My taste and interest in genres has changed over the years, but much like my taste in music, the type of books I read can depend on my mood. However, I have to admit that I have been in an intense love affair with crime fiction for almost a decade now and I can’t see us ending it just yet.

My house has always been full of boxes of books in an attempt to store some of them out of sight. But not too long ago I was running out of space and yet, somehow, having a baby changed all that.

I suddenly found myself on the couch or in my feeding chair in the middle of the night with time to kill while my baby boy gutsed himself on milk.

So, to make the most of this time, I started reading more and more books on my phone’s Books app. I was a bit unsure how I would find it at first, but being able to control the light and size of the text made powering through books easy.

I went back through my app and discovered that last year I read 40 books. I definitely went through a couple of paperbacks as well so that’s not too shabby!

I am already on book number four for 2019 but I wouldn’t mind getting closer to the 5o mark by the end of the year.

As well as reading more often, I’d like to try some new authors and genres this year. If you have any suggestions of books I just have to read please let me know in the comments below.

What are your reading goals for 2019?
