Anyone who knows me knows how much I love to read. I always have.
Finding the time to read can be a little more difficult now we have the two little ones but I always try to read before bed to help myself relax and unwind.
Last year I finished 42 books, so this year I’d like to read 43 if I can. I’ve already finished 11 books so far and have a few I’d recommend:
Perfect Kill and Perfect Crime by Helen Fields: I discovered her crime fiction books at the end of last year and quickly devoured the series. Great characters, Scottish setting and unusual crimes.
Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng: A television series has be made about this book starring Kerry Washington and Reese Witherspoon. I don’t think it has been released in Australia yet but I am keen to see it after finishing this book. It’s an easy read with interesting twists.
Scrublands by Chris Hammer: An Australian crime fiction novel set in a rural NSW town with so many twists and turns that you have to really pay attention to keep up with this book. But I still really enjoyed it and am keen to read his next novel Silver.
Next on my list to read or finish are
- A conspiracy of bones by Katy Reichs
- You will (probably) survive and other things they don’t tell you about motherhood by Lauren Dubois
- The boy from the woods by Harlan Coben
- In a dark, dark wood by Ruth Ware
- Outsider by Stephen King
- According to Yes by Dawn French
- Into the water by Paula Hawkins
What are you reading at the moment? What’s on your list?
